Description
The unique Orbisphere thermal conductivity sensor is designed for continuous measurement of nitrogen in the gas phase or dissolved in liquid. The measurement method is a combination of a gas diffusion membrane and a solid-state gas thermal conductivity detector.
The microvolume, enclosed between the semi-permeable membrane and the thermal conductivity sensor, is periodically purged with gas. After each purge, the sample gas diffuses from the sample through the membrane, changing the thermal conductivity of the gas surrounding the detector. A change in thermal conductivity changes the resistivity of the detector. This is all measured along with temperature to calculate the gas concentration.
