The sensor comes with a plastic screw cap to store and protect its head. The plastic base is designed to protect the connection socket and can serve as a suitable support for the sensor during maintenance procedures or when it is not in use.

Description
The principle of operation of ozone sensors of the C1100 series
The Orbisphere C1100 sensors are designed to measure the ozone content in ultra-pure water circuits or during the disinfection phase of any beverage production line. This unique sensor does not require special settings or experienced operators to work on the line.
In its simplest form, the electrochemical sensor consists of one central electrode (cathode) and one counter electrode (anode) immersed in an electrolyte solution that is separated from the liquid sample by a gas-permeable membrane. The electronic circuit is connected to the anode and cathode. A current will flow through the applied voltage between the anode and the cathode.
A protective ring surrounds the central electrode to reduce the effect of other gases and therefore improve the stability of the analysis. The sensor head is closed with a protective cap to protect the membrane.
Ozone, penetrating through the membrane into the cell, reacts with the electrolyte, which then reacts at the cathode, causing a measurable electric current. This current is proportional to the amount of gas entering the cell, which in turn is proportional to the partial pressure of the gas in the sample outside the cell.
The result is displayed as a gas concentration, which can then be displayed with a choice of several units of measurement according to the instrument settings.
Intelligent touch technology is implemented using the RS485 interface.
The sensor electronics perform four functions:
- Applies a constant voltage to the anode
- Measures the current flowing through the sensor
- Compensates for temperature fluctuations of the liquid sample
- Converts the electrical current of the cell to an analog signal for the output of the sensor
