Description
The concentration of ammonium (NH4+) is determined by intermittent direct measurement using an ion-selective electrode.
The analysis vessel is filled with a fresh sample. ISA [ionic strength adjuster] buffer solution will be added to the sample to adjust the pH. The potential of the sample solution is measured. From this value, the analyzer calculates the ammonium concentration in the sample.
With low maintenance requirements and reduced reagent consumption, the EZ3000 Series is the ideal choice for ammonia analysis where ion selective electrodes are the preferred method.
Unlike standalone electrodes or other analyzers on the market, the EZ3000 Series does not perform continuous measurements. The ISE principle of intermittent analysis not only improves control over the conversion of ion activity to electrical potential, but also eliminates the risk of cross-contamination between runs and reduces overall reagent consumption.
