Applications: For water and waste water; decomposition is necessary to determine the total manganese content.
Method description: The PAN method is a highly sensitive and fast procedure for measuring low levels of manganese. The ascorbic acid reagent reduces all oxidized forms of manganese to Mn2 +.
The alkaline cyanide reagent masks possible interference. The PAN indicator then forms an orange complex with Mn2 +. Measurement wavelength 560 nm.
