Description

Range: 0.02 - 2.50 mg/L NH3-N
Applications: For water, waste water and sea water.
Description of the method: Mineral stabilizer creates hardness in the sample. The polyvinyl alcohol dispersing agent promotes color formation when Nessler's reagent reacts with ammonia and some other amines. A yellow color is formed, proportional to the concentration of ammonia. Measurement wavelength 425 nm.
Note: Brown particles are common in Nessler's reagent and grow in number over time. This sediment does not affect the results.
