Description
The programmed method in the NucleoCounter cytometer allows the user to quantify the DNA content in fixed mammalian cells, which allows the determination of the phases of the cell cycle G0 / G1, S and G2 / M.
Using image analysis, the NucleoCounter system automates DNA measurements. The method allows measurement of fluorescently stained cells using propidium iodide.
After staining, cells are loaded onto one of two types of ChemoMetec slides: 2-chamber NC-Slide A2 or 8-chamber NC-Slide A8. Samples are analyzed using the NC-3000 or NC-250 system, cellular fluorescence is quantified, and DNA histograms are displayed on the PC screen.
