Solution 19 VitaBright-43, 100 μl
Availability: Order only
VitaBright-43 is not a fluorescent compound, however it forms a highly fluorescent product within viable cells. VitaBright-43 stains cells according to intensity, reflecting their redox status. The high fluorescence intensity of a particular cell indicates that the cell has a high level of reduced thiols. VitaBright-43 ™ is a marker for the detection of mid to late stage apoptosis in mammalian cells.
The solution contains VitaBright-43 (1 mM, ~ 274 µg/mL ~ 0.027%) in dimethyl sulfoxide.
Solution 19 VitaBright-43 allows the user to detect changes in the level of reduced thiols such as GSH (glutathione) in apoptotic cells or cells undergoing other pathological processes. Since reduced thiol levels are an indicator of overall health, this assay provides a very simple and quick way to assess cell viability.
Used with NC-3000.
