Description

The Orbisphere K1200 Luminescent Oxygen Sensor has been tested under high radiation levels in nuclear power plants to prove the resistance of materials and construction to radiation. It is easy to calibrate and maintain, which reduces radiation exposure. PPM Oxygen Measurement Accuracy. Optical technology provides accurate readings.

One calibration per year

A zero point calibration must be performed once a year - that's all it takes to service the K1200. Traditional electrochemical sensors show significant drift after just a few months, requiring regular re-calibration and significant operator time. Thanks to luminescent technology, the K1200 sensor is designed with minimal drift in mind, making it the most stable sensor with the longest calibration interval in the nuclear industry.

No diaphragms = two minutes of service

With no membranes to replace and no electrolyte solution to replenish, the K1200 is virtually maintenance-free, requiring only two minutes of maintenance per year. Sensor accuracy is unaffected by process changes, eliminating unnecessary operator intervention in radioactive areas. Plus, no corrosive or hazardous chemicals are required, making annual tasks faster, easier, and safer without sacrificing measurement accuracy.

Retrofitting

The complete system consists of a controller, a flow chamber, a K1200 fluorescent dissolved oxygen sensor and a 312xx hydrogen sensor for parallel measurements. The sensor is compatible with Hach Orbisphere 28mm flow chambers, eliminating the need for technical modifications. Installation is quick, easy and requires no special training.

The K1200 optical sensor is the first sensor to use fluorescent technology to measure low oxygen levels in nuclear power plants. Since 1978, Hach Orbisphere sensors have set the industry standard for oxygen measurement by providing reliability.
