Preparation for analysis
- Rinse the tube with sample water before performing analysis. After testing, rinse the vial and mixing container with deionized water.
- Undissolved powder does not affect accuracy.
Step-by-step analysis for free chlorine 10 - 200 mg/L Cl2 test set CN-21P
- Fill the volumetric tube to the top with sample. Transfer the sample to a mixing bottle.
- Add one sachet of Potassium Iodide Reagent (107799) to the vial. Stir the solution with a swirling motion.
- Add one sachet of Sulfamic Acid Powder (105599) to the bottle. Rotate to mix. If chlorine is present in the sample, a yellow color will appear.
- Add sodium thiosulfate solution (2409232) dropwise. Count the drops until the color changes from yellow to colorless. Mix the sample after each drop is added.
- The number of drops multiplied by 10 equals the concentration of free chlorine in mg/l.
