Description
Cuvette test Hach LCK346 for the determination of phenols. The reagents are suitable for use with the DR series spectrophotometers.
Application: for wastewater, exhaust air (after absorption), and exhaust air condensates formed during the manufacture and processing of benzene, petroleum products, glass and mineral fibres, hardboard, coke, oil shale, hazardous waste, town gas, coal and brown coal products, tar, asphalt and bitumen.

Description of the method: In the presence of an oxidant, ortho- and meta-substituted phenols form colored complexes with 4-aminoantipyrine (AAP).
pH / Temperature: The pH of the water sample should be between 2-11. Samples with high acidity or alkalinity must be brought to the correct pH before analysis. The temperature of the water sample and reagents should be between 20 - 25 ° C (68 - 77 ° F). If measurements cannot be made immediately, phenol samples should be refrigerated until analyzed.
