Description
Reagent Set Powder Pillows reagents (2429600) for the determination of Silica from Hach.
Аpplication: For water and seawater.
The reagents are hermetically sealed in foil sachets, which provides them with a long shelf life. The reagent is simply poured into the measuring cuvette along with the sample. The analysis is carried out visually, for example using a color disc or with a HACH LANGE photometer.
Set includes: Acid Reagent Powder Pillows, Citric Acid Powder Pillows and Molybdate Reagent Powder Pillows.
Summary of method: Silica and phosphate in the sample react with molybdate ion under acidic conditions to form yellow silicomolybdic acid complexes and phosphomolybdic acid complexes. Addition of citric acid destroys the phosphate complexes. Silica is then determined by measuring the remaining yellow color.
