Description
Reagent kit (2429300) for the determination of Zinc from Hach for water analysis and wastewater monitoring. Digestion is required to analyze the total zinc content in the sample. For information on sample cuvettes, refer to the analysis method document under the Documentation tab.
Kit includes: Powder Pillows ZincoVer 5 reagent (item no. 2106669) and cyclohexanone (item no. 1403332) for 100 tests.
Method description: Zinc and other metals in the sample are complexed with cyanide. The addition of cyclohexanone causes a selective release of zinc. The zinc reacts with 2-carboxy-2'-hydroxy-5'-sulfoformazyl benzene (zincon) indicator to form a blue-colored species. The blue color is masked by the brown color from the excess indicator. The intensity of the blue color is proportional to the amount of zinc present.
