Description

Method Description [Mid Range]: Cadmium reduces nitrate in the sample to nitrite. The nitrite ion reacts in an acidic medium with sulfanilic acid to form an intermediate diazonium salt. The salt combines with gentisic acid to form an amber solution. The measurement wavelength is 400 nm for spectrophotometers or 420 nm for colorimeters.
Method Description [High Range]: Cadmium reduces the nitrate in the sample to nitrite. The nitrite ion reacts in an acidic medium with sulfanilic acid to form an intermediate diazonium salt. The salt combines with gentisic acid to form an amber solution. The measurement wavelength is 500 nm for spectrophotometers or 520 nm for colorimeters.
Fast
Accuvac® ampoules deliver fast results. Immerse the tip of the ampoule into the sample and press gently so that its tip breaks off, the ampoule will be filled with the sample under the action of vacuum and the contents will be mixed. The color of the content is assessed visually or photometrically.
Easy
It is not necessary to measure the amount of sample or reagent. The evacuated ampoules draw the correct sample volume, you get reliable results with minimal effort.
