Description
- Hold the pipette vertically over the sample. Do not allow the dropper to touch the vial during titration.
- Rinse the volumetric tube, bottle, or flask with sample before each test. Rinse it with deionized water after each test.
- To check the accuracy of the test, use a standard solution as a sample.
- To write the test result as mg/L SO3, multiply the test result in mg/L Na2SO3 by 0.64.
Step-by-step instructions for the determination of sulfite 0 - 20 mg/L Na2SO3
- Fill the flask with sample up to the 100 ml mark.
- Add one Sulfite 1 Reagent (220399).
- Rotate to mix.
- Add one sachet of Sulfamic Acid Reagent (105599).
- Rotate to mix.
- Add Sulfite 3 reagent (70532) dropwise. Stir after each drop. Count the drops until the color of the solution changes to gray-blue.
- Write down the number of drops. The number of drops of the titrant solution is equal to the result in mg/L.
Step-by-step instructions for the determination of sulfite 0 - 200 mg/L Na2SO3
- Fill the mixing bottle with sample up to the 10 ml mark.
- Add one Sulfite 1 reagent.
- Turn the bottle left and right to mix.
- Add one sachet of Sulfamic Acid Reagent.
- Turn the bottle left and right to mix.
- Add Sulfite 3 reagent drop by drop. Stir after each drop. Count the drops until the color changes to gray-blue.
- Multiply the total number of drops by 10 to get the result in mg/L.
