Description

Non-invasive optical oxygen sensors measure both dissolved and gaseous oxygen.

The SP-PSt6-YAU optical point for the PreSens oxygen sensor can be attached to the inner surface of any transparent glass or plastic container. The oxygen concentration can then be measured in a non-contact and non-destructive manner from the outside through the vessel wall. The oxygen sensitive coating is immobilized on a 1 mm thick glass substrate that can be autoclaved.

Additional equipment required for measurements (not included in the package): optical oxygen meter (for example Fibox 4 trace), glue, vacuum tweezers, tweezers, laboratory spatula, pipette dispenser.

Non-invasive oxygen measurement in the food industry with the optical point for the PreSens oxygen sensor

SP-PSt6-YAU are ideal for measuring oxygen in PET bottles. Non-invasive oxygen sensors measure O2 in both liquid and gaseous phases (in headspace above the product in a container). They are suitable for transparent materials up to 10 mm thick and even for slightly opaque packages. The touch point is read from the outside through a polymer optical fiber. This system allows parallel measurements in different bottles as the fiber can be moved from bottle to bottle.
