Description
Description
The amount of insoluble substances in drinking water is an important quality indicator. Silt, sand, bacteria, spores and chemical precipitates contribute to the cloudiness or turbidity of water. Accurate measurement of turbidity is important to ensure that drinking water is free from various contaminants. Online real-time turbidity measurement allows drinking water producers to continuously monitor the process, ensuring proper production and product quality.
The TU5300 sc and TU5400 sc industrial turbidimeters use 360° x 90° measurement technology to provide the fastest and most accurate turbidity measurements possible. Instead of measuring the reflection of a single light beam at a 90° angle, in-line turbidity analyzers collect an array of measurements at a 90° angle and a 360° radius around the sample cuvette. Full circle capture of reflected light can significantly increase the signal-to-noise ratio, which lays the foundation for improved turbidity measurement accuracy, especially at the low end of the measuring range.
The difference between the TU5300 and the TU5400 lies in their analytical performance: the TU5400 has a lower detection limit and better reproducibility (see specifications below).
Turbidity analyzers can be supplied with various options to make maintenance even easier:
- Flow sensor - detects the rate of water flow through the turbidimeter. Provides a more stable flow without bubbles, which is very important for measurements in a cuvette.
- Automatic cleaning module - automatic system for cleaning the sample cuvette. The kit includes wipers that clean the surface even if water contains iron and manganese.
- System Status Check - notifies user about the state of the sample cell.
The analyzers use a small 10 mL measuring cuvette. Due to the small size and small volume, the sample residence time in the analyzer is shortened, resulting in a significant reduction in the analysis time, excluding the response time delay of several minutes.
The instrument is factory calibrated and the laser light source is stable. The manufacturer recommends that you periodically check the calibration to ensure that the system is working properly. Calibration should be carried out according to the established regulations and after repair or complex maintenance work. Use the off-the-shelf StabCal turbidity standards or formazin to calibrate the instrument.
Comparison of the results obtained in the laboratory and in production
With 360° x 90° detection technology in both the TU5 laboratory turbidity meters and the online analyzer, you can eliminate the uncertainty of which measurement to rely on.
