Packaged reagents NitraVer 5 Powder Pillows (2106169) for the determination of Nitrate from Hach.
Аpplication: For water, wastewater, seawater.
The reagents are hermetically sealed in foil sachets, which provides them with a long shelf life. The reagent is simply poured into the measuring cuvette along with the sample. The analysis is carried out visually, for example using a color disc or with a HACH LANGE photometer.
Summary of method: Cadmium metal reduces nitrate in the sample to nitrite. The nitrite ion reacts in an acidic medium with sulfanilic acid to form an intermediate diazonium salt. The salt couples with gentisic acid to form an amber colored solution. The measurement wavelength is 400 nm for spectrophotometers or 420 nm for colorimeters.
