Description

The test kit can easily determine iron levels in the range 0.25 - 7 mg/L (medium range). The number of reagents is designed for 100 tests.

How to determine the amount of iron using the Hach test kit IR-18B:

fill two plastic tubes with samples up to the 5 ml mark. Samples with an iron content of more than 30 mg/L can give low results. For high iron levels, dilute samples as follows:
- use a 3 ml syringe to add 2.5 ml of sample to each tube. Dilute the sample with deionized water to the 5 ml mark. When checking, use a diluted sample and multiply the result by 2.
- use a syringe to add 1 ml of sample to each tube. Dilute the sample to the 5 ml mark with deionized water. When checking, use a diluted sample and multiply the result by 5.
put one plastic tube on the left side of the color comparator box
to the second plastic tube add the powder FerroVer® reagent and waut for 2-5 minutes
swirl the tube until an oranger color appers
put the second plastic tube in the color comparator box
hold the comparator box in front of the light. Turn the color discs (choose the one depending on you are doing the test indoors or outdoors) until the color match
chech the result in mg/L on the scale. If the color match is between two segments, use a value in the middle of the segments.

All necessary reagents and equipment are included in a portable case for analysis in the field.
