Description
As a rule, photometric methods are used to analyze only dissolved substances, and not complexed bonded substances. Analyzed solutions should be clear, without turbidity, as this can lead to ambiguous results. Therefore, each sample must be filtered before analysis.
The Hach LCW904 set is designed for high-precision filtration of aqueous solutions, water, waste water, diluted acids and alkalis under pressure.
- It is especially suitable for filtering samples with highly volatile components (formaldehyde, cyanide, ozone, ammonia, hydrazine, etc.).
- Not suitable for concentrated acids and alkalis, organic solvents.
Turbidity is usually present in industrial wastewater. It is caused by insoluble substances, partly from the metalworking industry in the form of heavy metal hydroxides, sulfides or carbonates, and partly from the food industry in colloidal form (protein, starch). Filtration of such a sample should take place at a certain point in the working process, depending on what constituents of the wastewater will be analyzed.
