Description

Hach FP 360 sc sensor is designed for monitoring oil products in surface, technical and industrial waters by immersing a highly sensitive UV fluorimeter directly into the medium.

Ultraviolet fluorescence method

The FP 360 sc measures the intensity of fluorescent light at 360 nm and can measure polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) from 1.2 to 5000 ppb (μg / L). This is roughly equivalent to a mineral oil concentration of 0.1 to 150 ppm (mg / L). Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, after irradiation with ultraviolet light, emit luminescence in a longer wavelength region (fluorescence). This method is more sensitive than absorbance or light scatter measurements and makes it immune to interference from turbid water or natural organic and biological substances. The PAH content can be used to calculate the total content of oil products in water.

Depending on the application, this model can be used with additional sensors connected to SC controllers. The entire range of digital controllers is presented here.

Maintenance

The FP 360 sc does not have pipes, pumps or valves that can clog or require constant maintenance. Service is limited to periodically wiping the sensor measuring window, calibrating every two years, and replacing the xenon lamp every four years.
