The digital sensor Hach Sonatax sc continuously measures the level or height of the sediment. Sensitivity adjustment is provided for the sensor to ensure consistently high accuracy. Signals reflected from structures in the vessel (pipes, rods) do not affect the measurements, as they are blocked by the software.

Description
Sonatax sc uses an ultrasonic pulse to measure sludge levels in liquids with suspended solids. To ensure the highest possible accuracy, the sensitivity is automatically adjusted to fluctuations in particulate matter concentration and sludge profile.
The ultrasonic signal sent by the sensor is directed to the sediment layer in the tank, in which solids in water (or other liquid) can form a sediment and a boundary arises between the solids that formed the sediment and the light phase above it. Height and depth measurements are based on the time it takes for the ultrasonic echo to return to the transducer and display on the controller. This device has a display with graphical functions, therefore, in the measurement mode, the profile will be displayed in the form of a graph. You can connect sc200 or sc1000 monitoring devices to Sonatax. The control panel of the device creates its own unique event protocol for each sensor. The measurement results are saved in the data log, in which the saving interval can be set. The event log allows you to save configuration changes, faults, alarms, and more. The sensor is equipped with an automatic cleaning system using a magnetic brush. Thus, impurities from the ultrasonic sensor are removed before it can affect the operation. The brush works without a mounting rod and can be changed without opening the sensor housing.
Sediment management
At the stage of primary processing, in compactors and clarifiers, the sensor can:
- optimize sediment removal
- control precipitation behavior
- set returned active precipitation
- reduce the risk of sludge loss
Sonatax sc detects malfunctions and helps prevent threshold violations. With a measuring range up to a depth of 12 meters, it is suitable for use in specialized industrial control tasks.
