Description
Description
A phenolphthalein indicator is added to the sample. The carbonic acid formed by the carbon dioxide in the sample is titrated with standard sodium hydroxide solution until the indicator changes color at the end point pH 8.3. Strong acids are not present in the sample or are present in concentrations that cannot interfere with the test results.
Use the standard additions method to validate the test procedure, reagents, apparatus, technique and to find if there is an interference in the sample.
