Comparator / color disc for phenol, 0 - 4 mg /L

Description

The phenol color disc method is inexpensive and provides / provides the most accurate results by visual analysis. Test - the suite contains 100 tests.

Filtration procedure for turbid samples:

1. Insert the 0.45 μm filter disc into the 25 mm filter holder and tighten.
2. Fill a 30 cc syringe with sample and attach the syringe to the filter holder.
3. Slide the filter holder on the tube.
4. Pass the sample in the syringe through the filter by pressing on the plunger of the syringe.
5. Use the filtered sample for testing.

Step-by-step procedure for the determination of phenols with the test kit Hach PL -1:

1. Fill two tubes with samples.
2. Add one EDTA Powder Pillow Reagent to each tube.
3. Cap the tube and shake until the reagent is dissolved.
4. Add 15 drops of buffer solution to each tube.
5. Cap the tube and shake.
6. Place one tube - on the left in the color comparator box.
7. Add one Powder Pillow with phenol to the second tube if it is not a extraction method.
8. Cap the tube and shake until the reagent is dissolved.
9. To the second tube - add one packet of Powder Pillow Potassium Persulfate.
10. Cap the tube and shake until the reagent is dissolved.
11. Place the second tube in the color comparator box.
12. Keep the color comparator box exposed to light (use natural or artificial light). Rotate the color disc until the colors match.
13. Compare results on a scale in mg/L.
