Description
Loading a sample into a cassette
The Via2-Cassette ™ is loaded by pressing the white piston while the tip of the cassette is inside the sample. Pressing the piston creates a vacuum that takes approximately 60 μL of the cell sample into the cassette's flow system. Via2-Cassette holds a minimum sample volume of 100 µl.
After loading Via2-Cassette, the sample buffer dissolves the fluorescent dyes, AO (acridine orange) and DAPI (4 ', 6-diamidino-2-phenylindole), which are located inside the flow channels. The dyes dissolve instantly and stain the loaded cell sample.
Once loaded, the Via2-Cassette is inserted into the NucleoCounter® NC-202. Pressing the RUN button starts the cell counting protocol.
Once the analysis is complete, the sample and stains remain inside the cassette, which can be safely disposed of. The NucleoCounter® NC-202 instrument itself does not require cleaning or maintenance, since the cell samples are not in direct contact with it.
